Candy Crush Saga · Windows · Unofficial beta
AccessiCrush adds keyboard navigation and screen reader speech to Candy Crush Saga. Explore candies, colours, special types, blockers and objectives; swap with the keyboard; and navigate supported menus and popups. It reads the game's native data, without OCR or a visible overlay, while keeping the original game sounds.
This is a beta for Microsoft Store Candy Crush Saga version 1.3390.1.0. Run NVDA before starting. The mod checks the exact game build; a Store update may need a new mod release. Not every level, event or popup has been tested.
Hear row and column positions, candy colours, striped-candy direction, blockers and jelly layers. Read rows, columns or nearby squares without moving your selection.
Select two neighbouring candies or use a direct swap. Optional clues point to an area with a legal move or a special-match shape, without telling you the swap or making it for you.
Hear remaining moves and objectives, use supported menus and sliders, and explore events and social screens. Optional clear announcements describe cleared candies and known blocker damage.
Documents\AccessiCrush. Do not run it from inside the ZIP.Stop-For-Update.cmd before replacing old files. Then run Install.cmd from the final location.Install.cmd. It checks compatibility, enables the silent watcher at Windows sign-in, starts it now and creates a desktop shortcut. Administrator access is not needed.Python, the screen reader libraries and the Facebook helper's .NET runtime are included. Facebook sign-in also needs Microsoft Edge WebView2 Runtime, normally already installed on Windows. The mod does not patch the installed game files.
Play-Candy-Crush.vbs starts the watcher and game together. Attach-Now.vbs attaches once to an open game. Keep the extracted folder in place while installed.
To remove it, run Disable-AutoStart.cmd, close the game, delete the desktop shortcut and delete the extracted folder. Your Candy Crush save is separate.
Location and clue keys leave your cursor and selection unchanged.
Top-row 1–9 selects a visible booster slot from left to right. Its name, availability and instructions are spoken. Selecting a slot alone does not spend a booster.
These controls passed automated sequencing checks. Exact booster consumption and effects still need live player validation. Confirmed activation can spend real inventory.
NVDA modifier, Ctrl, Alt and Windows shortcuts pass through. The game remains in its own window with its original audio. AccessiCrush itself uses no OCR. Native account screens use ordinary Tab, Shift+Tab and typing.
The included modern Facebook sign-in helper opens when supported. Facebook and King control account linking, saved progress and friend permissions; signing in does not guarantee friend importing or merge separate saves.
Version 0.8.19 makes the Having fun rating prompt navigable, with Not now / close selected first, an explicitly labeled rating action and Escape to close. Controls were verified on the live scene and with captured-screen tests; no rating was submitted. The previous update prevents popup clicks from reaching the taskbar or another window. For a covered Booster Unlocked Sweet confirmation, it can briefly adjust the game window, validate the same button and restore the original placement. The smaller-window confirmation sequence was tested live without losing game focus; automatic restoration and blocked-click behavior passed targeted tests. The previous update makes chest information work on the Daily Stamps card-information variant using normal pointer input. Opening and closing the tooltip were tested live without claiming a reward. The preview announces durations and quantities; individual reward names remain unavailable. The previous update fixes the unnamed background chest in Daily Stamps: the introduction exposes only its own controls, chest reward-information buttons are labeled, and reward tooltips have a Close/back action. The introduction was checked live without activating it; tooltip navigation used captured/simulated UI. Diagnostics for unknown controls now include native paths. The previous update adds native age/form keyboard handoff, queued automatic speech, supported result-star announcements, retained exposed narrative text, and map access to earlier levels. Page Up scrolls earlier and Page Down later; the Earlier levels group expands with Enter and collapses with Enter or Escape. Scrolling back to levels 1–10 was tested live. Regional age gates and end-of-level star announcements passed simulated tests but still need live retests. Episode names are read where the game exposes them; some map scenes have no name. No level-10 cutscene has been confirmed or recreated. The previous update adds detailed discovery diagnostics: environment versions, cache decisions, memory-read failures, scan speed, region properties and object counts. The contact form now accepts up to five attachments totaling 10 MiB. The previous update allows up to two minutes for initial discovery, adds a spoken status during longer connections and detailed scan progress in accessicrush.log, and cleans up failed connections before retrying. This addresses a fixed twenty-second timeout reported on another PC; that PC still needs a retest. The previous update fixes startup Play/sign-in navigation after terms and removes an optional input dependency that caused scene-change errors on some PCs. Closing the game releases the bundled runtime; a Windows watcher handles the next launch, and Stop-For-Update is included for older locked installations. The new input backend passed simulated event tests; live swaps on the affected remote PC remain untested. It also includes stable English navigation labels across game languages, bounded background scene recovery, and support for native and localized first-run terms panels. M and Shift+M cycle move clues; F3 opens settings. It also includes episode-aware level selection, move-area clues, clearer Team Clash and team-feed labels, and fixes for overlapping information panels. The first-run changes passed translated and simulated screen tests; this release has not yet been tested on a fresh installation. No save was reset. Some later-game rules, blocker types, offers and popup variants remain untested. Exact milestone booster icons are not yet identified. Special-pattern clues do not cover every possible effect; square clues are experimental and off by default.
If nothing speaks, make sure NVDA is running and the game is focused. Try Attach-Now.vbs; use F2 if controls are paused or F5 if data is stale. Avoid resetting or reinstalling the game as a troubleshooting step, since local game data may be lost.
For feedback, use the Lillaire contact form and include the beta and game versions, the screen or level, keys pressed and what you heard. Logs are beside Install.cmd in your extracted mod folder: gameplay.jsonl (and .1/.2/.3 if present), accessicrush.log and autoattach.log. Include the screen or level, approximate time and keys pressed. See the README for full reporting instructions. Logs can contain game text and personal information: review them before sharing. The mod has no automatic log upload.
